The RETI’s Rapid Resilience initiative is a platform for PROVIDING RESPONSE TO THE changing needs created by the COVID-19 CRISIS. Together with our network of campaigns, we're bringing essential relief to the medical workers, LOW-INCOME POPULATIONS AND OTHER hard-hit COMMUNITIES across North America.
The global epidemic of COVID-19 has shifted into a new and dramatic phase. Much of the world, including our home of New York City, have adopted the precautions to bring the outbreak under control, however, many other populations are only seeing the devastating effects grow. Communities of color and low-income workers are disproportionately affected, as are Native American populations, prisoners, and nursing home staff and residents. We have broadened our response to the crisis beyond the medical sector to bring PPE to the People, not just the doctors and medical staff that have already been fighting the outbreak for so long. We are committed to help save lives by donating safety supplies to those who are chronically under-protected when facing the risk of infection. Beyond taking lives, this outbreak has also cut deeply into social services and public amenities that make it possible for low-income populations of color to deal with the record-breaking heat of the summer months. In response, we have launched an effort to help create a heat relief and community-building program that employs youth from the public housing community of our home of Red Hook, Brooklyn.
RETI Center is partnering with non-profit organizations to ensure the success of all of our response efforts, but we need your support to implement and expand our program.
